Hello,

I purchased a pre-Jtagged BB (512) Jasper a while ago and play occasional games. I wanted to update to the Kinect Dashboard using BestPig's tool, but it gave me an error saying the KV was wrong, after trying different things, I gave up using tools, and tried to build my own update using FBBuild and the Kinect Dashboard files. Flashed the update and the Xbox would power on but only an error code. I am unsure of the error code but would assume its E79. (RoL has been changed) It wouldnt boot to Xell either. (I am not using HDMI FYI)

Long story short I ordered a Nand-X from Xconsoles installed the QSBs and installed the drivers, yellow and red lights, etc etc. Only to be greeted by the Cannot Detect Flash Controller error. I've read the thread 3 times and only take away that it's my soldering (Which I believe to be false, I'll attached some pictures, and I tested using a multimeter)

Following my frustration I picked up the Xbox today read some more, tried to short out pins 44-47 on the nand, cannot get it to detect flash controller. ON OCCASIONS it will ATTEMPT to read the nand, but in the log of NandPro they are all Errors the majority of them being Error 0 or Error FFFE. I am now stumped and hoping somebody might be able to help me.

Appreciate any input! Thanks, Tyler.

do you have the power lead plugged into the xbox and a wall socket and switched on at the wall? (leave the xbox powered off)

if you have then it will be your soldering.

Yes power brick is plugged into 360 with an orange light.

I find it hard to be the soldering when the previous owner had pin headers installed which did not work aswell. I desoldered those and installed the QSBs just to make sure of the soldering....

I could always be wrong though..

Anymore ideas?

I would've kept the pin header.

Try a different ground. Usually when controller can't be detected it's the ground.

Would you recommend grounding to the chassis from the yellow wire spot of the QSB?

EDIT: Just tried that, no dice....

Sidenote: My Xbox has turned on a couple of times when trying to read the nand but still comes up with no controller detected...??

Try it. What I did for my ground is not use the point you did. I ran a wire under the board to the other ground. Seemed to work better.

Not to be mean but your solder isn't exactly -clean- In the first pic the joint looks like it's touching. Could be the angle.

It's all well and good showing the topside points, but don't forget these are through holes and the bottom side might have more of a story to tell. Personally I would have checked the traces to the holes to ensure they were intact before covering them with QSBs.

If you don't have a multimeter, go get one.

Turned on when reading the nand? That isn't correct. You might need to desolder the qsb and check the traces.
