Update: Added a hard drive and then started taking longer to boot (approx 10 - 20) seconds. Can see it clearly trying to glitch few times before it successfully boot into dash.

Added 0.068uF capacitor as previously mentioned and now boots almost instantly every time.

told you it works well, nothing else now boots as quick as the BBJasper with this cap!

anyone willing to test this with other boards? just interested if this would help with all rgh's. maybe someone could test a few 5+ times without cap and then with it on other boards. maybe this can help even on boards without long boots to achieve the best time possible.

It's simple unit conversion they taught us in grade 6:

1 μ = 1 000 n = 1 000 000 p

1 n = 1 000 p

μ = micro, n = nano, p = pico

F = Farad

hey guys...

i grabbed a coolrunner chip yesterday and installed in my brothers jasper (16mb) today.

it works fine.. i ran my wires the exact same way as the official TX diagrams.

problem is that it takes up to 5 minutes to glitch like the OP. I've tried both a 68nF as suggested here and a 680pF which was suggested elsewhere.

Both of these capacitors enable the glitch to occur much much faster but causes the 360 intro video to stutter and then freeze before booting any dashboard.

Just wondering if anyone has any idea why that would be or how to get around it?

It'd be great if there was some kind of small auto-switcher that could cause the capacitor to be connected to GND and A before the glitch, then to have it removed once booted.

For those of you saying that your Jasper wouldn't glitch unless you added that capacitor.

Are you saying your coolrunner would not blink the green light because that is the issue I am experiencing even though I am thorougly convinced that my solder is ok. Or do you mean it would take a long time to boot to xell when the coolrunner was still blinking the light?
