I succesfuly installed the Xecuter Coolrunner into my Jasper 512 MB and CB 6751, it glitches very quickly, in few seconds (2-3 seconds on every boot of Xell and Dash).

So, capacitor or no capacitor, this is the question?

I don't have a 68nf film capacitor, I could try a simple ceramic 100nF.What do you think about?
If its booting that quickly, no you dont need one. If you choose to add it it could end up being an example of the slogan "If it ain't broken, don't fix it."

Odd yours glitches no problem while mine most definitely needed the capacitor. As I mentioned in my earlier post, before adding in the capacitor, my 360 often failed to boot, and when it did boot, it froze in the dash. After the capacitor fix, its been working flawlessly. Once in a while it fails to boot, though I'd say it fails once every 10 boots.

Here's a little more info of my 360...

I have a 16Mb Jasper, it would boot very slowly at first or not all.

I have added a 100nf cap and now boots straight away or up to 25 seconds and is stable.

I have ordered some 68nf caps, I'll see if this improve boot times.

thanks people for all the posts regarding this, it's been a great help

Jasper 6750: make sure you use the correct wiring route for phat consoles, also use multi_builder 0.4 to build the ecc. If it's a big block jasper then you might need 68nF between A and GND.

My slim boots instantly most 80% of the time and then about 20s in about 20%. i didnt cut any wires i left it the same length as stated by Uber

Its looped in a straight row

ALL slims react differently. I've done over three dozen now with the same wire length to begin with. Boot times differed on all of them. You therefore need to find the sweet spot of wire length for CPU_RST.

Just out of curiosity, would one of these capacitors suffice?

100µF 50V 20% Radial-lead Electrolytic Capacitor

22 uF Electrolytic Capacitor

These are really my only options at the local store.

Ive found that its also just a matter of shape... Like ive done a really weird thing on my slim and its booting within 1 to 3 flashes most of the time...

it seems that the 68nf cap is necesary even on some 16mb jaspers . i had one today , and without cap the boot times were very random and slowly . After i added the 68nf cap everything was perfect , 10 boots with 3 sec each time.

i also did one 512 nand jasper , without the cap > 10 boot times with max 3-4 sec , so i think that it depends from console to console.

sorry for bad english , i am from romania . :p

@xslvry, Yes my 16m Jasper was the same until I added the cap, Mine was also mega fussy about the placement of the wires around the coolrunner board.
The pic of the coolrunner board isn't the final location of the wires either, It was a bit of a nightmare getting the console to glitch reliably with the DvD drive installed, I don't know if this is from interference with the drives wires or just the drive physically moving them slightly.

@gargoyle67 as i said , i think that depends from console to console , anyway it is good to have some 68 caps , just in case :)

Does this 68nf caps also resolves when certain BBB Jasper does not glitches at some times or its just to resolve the longer glitch times ?
