Does this 68nf caps also resolves when certain BBB Jasper does not glitches at some times or its just to resolve the longer glitch times ?
If you've exhaused other options

1. no bad blocks in eec area
2. compatible CB (CB 6751? Use Multi_builder 0.4).
3. wiring positions.

Then yes, a 68nF cap between A and GND should help.

Used donor nand with of 6750 for my 6751 , wiring all are correct just awaiting 68nF capacitor to arrive.

Sorry for my ignorance but my question still seems unanswered , "Does 68nF capacitors also fixes the issue where sometimes the console does not glitches ?"

Finally glitched my jasper. Initially, it was talking 15-30secs to boot. Added the capacitor and it now boots almost all the time on the first try. :)

I have a 16Mb Jasper, it would boot very slowly at first or not all.

I have added a 100nf cap and now boots straight away or up to 25 seconds and is stable.

I have ordered some 68nf caps, I'll see if this improve boot times.

thanks people for all the posts regarding this, it's been a great help
just an update-, fitted a 68nf cap. makes a great difference than the 100nf..boots quick now.. :)

Done mine as well - got the last 68nF at Maplins on friday and only had time to try it today. Boot time significantly improved.....

A bargain at 29 pence.....

Completed my first jasper 256mb today, will only very occasionally boot into xell, solder seems good but i think i'll redo it with a finer tipped iron tomorrow, order some 68nf caps from ebay.

But from what I have read it appears for most people, boot times are at 30 seconds even without the cap. Mine has booted into zell perhaps 2 out of 30 times

Hi everyone,

I Glitched a 512mb Jasper 6750 last night with a coolrunner and it was hell to say the least.

I was able to get into Xell and get the CPU key, however there was no way it was going to boot the freeboot image.

So off to Jaycar.....I trialed with 3 capacitors, the first two were ceramic - 1 x 47n & 1 x100n and the other one I tried was a 0.068uF/68nF Greencap Metallised Polyester Capacitor.

The ceramic ones worked with limited success, it would boot and then freeze on the Xbox 360 page and other random areas, but the greencap was awesome! :D It now boots every time within 2 seconds, which I could not believe as nothing was happening earlier even if I left the console on for 1 hour. The green light was flashing but no glitch.

I know that consoles can be a bit different on how they react, but for those of you having trouble, try one of those bad boys between GND and pad A on the Coolrunner.

Hope I have helped someone, long live RGH!

Hi, I have a Jasper 16Mb, everything is working well but when i flash the freeboot image to nand, it freeze at 2-3 minutes after i start the console, even on dash on idle. When i put the original nand it's OK. I tryed with all the builders ggbuild, coolshrimp and others and no succes. I put it a cap of 47nf and boo was 2-3 sec's but it's freezes in dash everything i do. If i put a 68nf can resolve the problem? or just but up faster? Please help and sorry for my bad ebglish.

I also have a BB Jasper 512. Everything wrote great to the NAND. But it would freeze at boot logo or in dash! So I installed the cap from my Coolrunner kit and Bam, it boots and way faster. Like under 5seconds now!

But it still seems unstable sometimes! It still freezes sometimes.... What other caps can I install? Mine is ptA to gnd 68nf.

Freezing is caused by wiring positions. Look in the wire install tutorials on where to place them.

My blue and green wires are way away from those 4pts. But my green wire is routed parallel with the yellow for almost 3 inches.… does that matter?*

Look at the picture in this thread that is labeled PHAT RGH BOOT / FREEZE PROBLEMS, I did my 512 jasper exactly the way it looks in the pic and it glitches/boots on the first blink most of the time no more than 3 blinks at most and I didn't even have to use the cap

Out of curiosity, does it matter how the capacitor is installed? With the numbers "683" facing up or down (using the cap that came with my coolrunner)?

Thanks

No - this type of cap is non-polarised (like a resistor).
