Okay, 2 xboxes later...I bought the x-chip, and installed it into 2 other xboxes before I found a revised v1.6 install that said it must be flashed with a different bios prior to booting up the xbox. 2 mobos fried I assume. Anyways, I am trying to verify that I can just follow the instructions on the website with no hidden problems!!

I have a v1.6 xbox, and I am putting the xecuter 3 into it.

Am I safe!!?

Thanks

Yes. The guides guided me to a successful install on a 1.6
The LPC Rebuild board makes it quite easy.

what makes you think you fried the two mobos, perhaps you just need to use the correct bios. I installed my x3 on my 1.6b following the instructions found here with no problems.

Yeah the X-chip apparently has issues with the 1.6. I found a revised version of their master install guide for the 1.6, and the first paragraph says do not boot up without changing the bios or serious damage can occur to the mobo and the chip....blah blah blah.....you should have put this up on your site [email protected]#%$$#^#$ers. Anyways that's dead in the water. I will try to fix them, or just part them out.
