Benefit of downgrading?

Hello,

Had a quick question. What is the benefit of downgrading firmware? I'm officially at ab 8.X version so those fuses are burned. A game wants me to update to 9.X. I looked at ChouDoujur and I saw the option that it prevents fuses being blown by enabling autoRCM. I'm not too much of a fan of autoRCM because I literally cant tell if my device is in RCM or if it is turned off as it should be. I cant see the screen difference personally.

So I'm wondering if there is a good reason to want to have it able to be downgraded over just keeping it at a higher firmware to run games that require it.

Thanks!

9.x burns another fuse, but to be honest at this point since your are officially on 8.x anyways I don't really think there is any benefit to not burning fuses. If you were on like 4.x or lower officially then sure since there is pegaSwitch and at some point possibly maybe a cold boot option in the future.

End of the day you can always go down to another no matter what your fuses are as along as you boot with a custom bootloader like SX. Just a note if you update to 9.x it will burn your game cart slot fuse as well can will cause it not to read game cards anymore if you do decide to downgrade after.
