Hi All,
I'm new to this forum and looked around a bit, hope this is the best place to post this... I spent some time looking up with Google to try to find a fix and lessons on how to flash my DVD drive since I fear that my be the necessary fix. Please let me know what you think?
I have an Elite (2009) with a BenQ drive (VAD6038) and when I updated to the latest dashboard 2.0.16547.0 (had not been online in a long time) I can no longer play newer games. For example GTA5 sends my xbox into black screen with one flashing red light (error 1002) but the screen doesnt say e66 even though thats what it is. I can still play older games on it but not the newer ones I have.
I did put a replacement dvd drive (the same model) and switched the PCB on it so that it has the original matched board, but I did that after I tried to just swap the whole drive and realized that the board too had to be swapped, cause I had the Play DVD error.
My question is: Do I need to flash the dvd key onto the drive and restore the old firmware then update? and do I have to find what the dvd key is that is stored on the motherboard?
I have a feeling that there is more to this fix than just flashing the dvd drive back to original firmware...
