hi i flash a fair few drives for people and have been flashing lt2.0 since it became available and i think ive noticed something strange with the benq version of lt2.0

i have a slim myself and a phat with benq also. when i flashed the benq i noticed that on a couple of games it would freeze in the middle of the game and the entire system would freeze. bad laser you would think right?
however the problem still exists when a new laser is fitted. then i noticed everytime i flash a benq drive for somebody the issues are the same in them all. usually when its just been flashed i need to put in an original the very first time after it or it wont read backups, after that first time it then reads them fine but does the freezing thing from time to time, not just on xgd3 but regular backups too. the same discs play fine on all the liteons, samsungs and slim liteons just benq's. also if i flash back to lt1.91 the freeing backups dont freeze anymore.

has anybody else found such issues with benq on lt2.0? i think perhaps the fw may have a bug but im not sure although it would be some coincidence if it was just on all the benq drives im getting and nobody elses.

sorry if this has been posted before somewhere i looked back over the last few pages and seen nothing, just thought id raise it and see if its affecting others or if possibly something in my flashing setup could be causing it but i doubt it as im using usbpro and ck3 for flashing.

I would re-download the Benq LT 2.0 Firmware, maybe the data from the file you are flashing became corrupt, try a few different sources just to be sure, I believe the last pack released was the one with sammy 2.01 included, try that and the one previously.

When flashing first started I remember the files getting corrupt frequently, so it's definitely possible, I would have thought other Benq owners would have noticed this also, that's why I suspect it's something end user related.

guys guys its nothing to do with how im flashing and outro-ing etc. im not a noob ive been flashing drives for years and have done hundreds if not thousands, i also do repairs so i know how to fix hardware faults such as laser faulty drive etc. its none of the above.

the last poster who said perhaps a corrupted file is most likely closer to the truth, thats why i was posting up here to see if anybody else with benqs had been having the same issues because basically if the answers no then it narrows it down to either a dodgy lt2.0 benq file or something in my setup but as ive said i doubt its the setup. have the latest sammy 2.01 pack but havent had any sammys since it came out so im pretty sure im still using the lt2.0 fw pack that came out for the slim liteon. will try another fw pack in case it is a corrupted file though id have imagine if the file was corrupted it wouldnt be playing anything at all tbh but guess its worth a shot

Has anyone found the cause of this problem?

I have just recently flashed a BenQ drive (first BenQ flash for me since LT+ v2.0 came out) and I am experiencing the same issues as fersy.

I have flashed many LiteOns and a couple Samsungs with the new LT+ firmware and they have had no problems.

It's really strange. I am using the X360USB Pro and I am following the J/F guide. I encounter nothing out of the ordinary, everything seems to work fine.

I flashed it and it worked successfully, but then, out of nowhere, it started to say "Play DVD" for every game I put in.

I flashed it again, repeating the exact same process as I did to flash it the first time, and now it's reading most games just fine. However, it is freezing on XGD3 backups.

I have flashed many drives before and I have also done many hardware repairs. Like fersy, I doubt it's my setup or a faulty drive - but I'm not going to rule those out completely.

What do you guys think? Any suggestions?

Thanks.
