Best DVD Firmware flashing device?

Hi, I am going to be buying a Xbox 360 and want to know the best non-soldering firmware flashing device that is out. I was looking at getting the Blaster 360 or the Xeno Top Gear. Are these good options? Easy to use, install, etc...

Also I am a bit confused about the difference between the solder chips vs these. I don't see any way of updating the firmware on the solder chips. Is this possible/necessary to update firmware for these chips?

Blaster 360 and Xeno Top Gear are a complete waste of money IMO. They aren't flashing devices, with either of them installed you still need everything else that you would need to flash without them. All they do is allow you to flash in the future without opening the 360 case again, but you still have to open the case and break the warranty seal to install the thing in the first place.

You should download Textbook's PDF tutorial and read it, it really has everything you need to know as far as the firmware hack including how to do it and links to hardware you'll need.

thanks dude, Yeah I modded my old xbox with a solderless chip and added a new HDD etc.. but wasn't sure how all this worked. thanks for the help
