I'm going on a trip for a couple of weeks and will not be taking my Switch with me. I do not want to leave it plugged in and charging while I'm gone. So what is the best method to conserve the battery? Do I disable auto-RCM and then turn it off normally or is there a better method to make sure the battery doesn't drain completely during that time?

Just boot to the SX bootloader and do Shutdown from there. That should turn it fully off or you can do Shutdown from the main menu and the hold the power button for about 15sec. That should also power it fully off.
Auto RCM should be disabled before I turn it off correct? A while back I turned the Switch off with auto RCM still enabled and it nearly drained the battery after less than a week.
