XGD3 Best Non-Live Safe Firmware

Hi,

Got a bit behind on all the development in the DVD firmware department after the RGH was developed.

Never use either of my consoles on Live and have got some XGD3 and AP2.5 titles that I have already backed up.

Is there a firmware in existence that will just play anything, although I understand that it won't be live safe and will flag my consoles.

My first console is a Phat with a DG-16D2S 9345 drive id and my second a slim with a DG-16D4S 9504 drive id. Both have LT2.0 at present.

Sorry if it's a dumb question but my head is fried with all the developments in the DVD department and I stopped even looking after XGD3 came out and went down the RGH route.

Don't get me wrong I know about Iextreme and currently have LT2.0 but just wondered if there was a "dropout" I can't be bothered to check all the security stuff any more FW!

Maybe the new Xecuter Fusion kernel may help?

For your slim, as long as it's pre-13146 dash all you need to flash LT+ 3.0 to the drive is an x360USB Pro (which I see you already have by looking at your "setup details").

Here's your tut:

Liteon DG-16D4S 9504 (Slim) - Step-By-Step Guide

You'll need a CK3 Probe 3 to flash 3.0 to your Phat and as long as it's pre-13599 dash use this tut:

Liteon DG-16D2S 93450C - Step-By-Step Guide (With CK3 Probe 3)


Assuming you do everything correctly as far as flashing is concerned and have backed up your XGD3 discs using the right procedure you won't have to worry too much about being flagged, whether your console is on or off Live.

Console checks for xgd3 and ap2.5 are offline also sO for now you Need the c4e firmware.
Flash and play :)

You can rgh you consoles and stay with lt2.0. no need to re-patch and reburn your current backups.

That's more along the lines of what I was asking! So will current AP2.5 backups I have continue to work as well as retail and backup XGD3 discs if I stick with LT2.0

Thanks for the detailed reply, and I apologise as I didn't make it clear enough in my original post, but I'm very familiar with flashing and how to do it, been modding MS's finest since the xbox 1 days. Just never use Live, tried it once years ago but to be honest I don't have a great deal of free time and when I do get to do a bit of gaming I didn't really enjoy getting my ass handed to me on a plate by a load of 12 year olds who clearly have a lot more time to practice than me.:redface:

On the plus side I earn considerably more than them so can afford to buy pretty much anything that takes my fancy! :biggrin:

So was just trying to get out of the cat and mouse business and be able to play my existing back ups and any future XGD3 backups plus any originals I haven't got round to backing up.

yep. rgh doesn't care about ap2.5. As long as you use I has with burner Max fw for your xgd3 backups then you will be ok. to be honest you don't even need to run you backups through abgx1.0.6 and they will work. But with rgh forget about Xbox live.

Yeah, for me the RGH was a no brainer, don't ever go on live so lost absolutely nothing.

You sure about that?, Unless it's RGH'd.... With the latest dash, Then IT does matter which f/w he's using :facepalm:

Come on chaps, I'm grateful for all the help and to be fair my original post wasn't that clear so I edited it. Blame a working week of over 100 hours including 5 nights! I think I'm clear now so all is well with the world!
