While I was struggling getting my X3 installed I spent a while reading over the different problems/posts to pass the time while I tried to put getting the soldering iron out again off long as possible and one thing I noticed was that with BIOS issues alot of people were recommending flashing 1959 onto the second bank in order to restore Bank 1 back to a working 3029.

I was just wondering what everybody thought about this. Is it worth while having the two different versions installed or do you think it's just as handy to flash the latest build onto both banks?

imho, X3 is pretty fail safe since it has a backup bios (as long as you update it if needed) so there is no need to install bios to second 1mb bank. On the otherhand, to protect yourself just in case backup bios ever become unavailable, then it would be wise to put in a working (any version) of X3 bios in your second 1mb bank for double protection. Just make sure not to be foolish to load in a non X3 bios in there.
