What are you going to be soldering? a fine tip is good, but reballs for instance will require a flat chissel tip of some sort. I have 3 irons with different tips so I done have to change them and can use them all at the same time if needed.

A good range of sizes! I purchased my x-tronic station and it came with a pack of 8 diff. Sizes!! Being a noob I used different ones for different things! I used maybe 4 out of the pack, .8 chisel (mostly) large chisel ( for grounded to board or housing, medium chisel ( pad tinning goes quicker) and ultra fine tip ( just recently used it to remove r1r1 resister!! ) but again I'm a noob!!
