thats why i personally prefer nandpro. he asked me what the difference was.
Even the latest version v1.74?

Aside, what do I need freeBOOT ToolBox for? I mean, do I need it for anything, having nand pro already?

The guide uses NAND PRO for injecting keyvault and configblocks on XBR. Perhaps for injecting it on freeBOOT should it be needed freeBOOT ToolBox? since im dealing with freeBOOT and not XBR?

Or the NAND PRO just works the same for injecting either XBR or freeBOOT... ?

And, don't suppose things like you are doing. What you said above is regarding freeboot is completely irrelevant and wrong. I would suggest, no, I would recommend you to search for information of these things and get some basic knowledge regarding Jtagging etc. Otherwise, things can go wrong, especially in electronic items such as the Xbox360, even one small wrong move can cost you your perfectly working Xbox.

Thanks. The guide dont talk anything about getting CPU KEY for flashing with XBR. Is it the same for freeBOOT?.. since I heard there is needed the CPU KEY for creating freeBOOT (not XBR)

Seems like you do not want to search for such basic information as this, therefore I will tell this to you myself.

In order to make a freeboot image, you need the CPU Key of your console, nothing else.

As for XBR, you don't need the CPU Key, only the KV and Config blocks from the original NAND are required which have to injected to the XBR image. After injecting these, the XBR image will work on your console.

Im just trying to research to be sure enough before doing anything. I've read the guide and I got it, but since Im going with other rebooter and haven't find the steps or guide with freeBOOT, im trying to understand if theres any change going with freeBOOT instead XBR. Thats all.

Thanks anyway.

if you read that guide of MaK's i pointed you to then youll see once youve got xbr running then theres an app to convert it to freeboot. you can also manually write xell and get your cpu key and from there create a freeboot image using your cpu key.

MaK will explain better no doubt cause hes one of our resident jtag experts.

That sounds fine, but I was wondering if theres a way to install freeBOOT directly; not XBR --> then updating to freeBOOT.

Is this possible, to get CPU Key and then straight installing freeBOOT? or am I asking too much. Sorry if so, I much appreciate all your input.

@ flashing360

Expert? Me? :p Very Funny :p. I am not completely a Noob now, but still pretty much a Noob. If you see some of the first posts I made around 2 months ago, you would be laughing so much at what I was then :p e.g: http://www.team-xecuter.com/forums/showpost.php?p=275965&postcount=2 You wouldn't believe it was me :D

@ kerman80

Since you haven't Jtagged your console before, just follow my Tutorial as it is. As for the confusion you are having you are facing now, once you go through the process of Jtagging, you will understand everything yourself ;)

Since you don't have your CPU Key, you will have to get it, either by installing XeLL or XBR. XBR has XeLL integrated in it, so, either way you choose, you will get your CPU Key and have freeboot installed in the end.

If you want you can skip the XBR part, write XeLL, get your CPU Key, then freeboot manually using CMD. As an alternative, you can follow my tutorial exactly as it is which includes writing XBR to the NAND. Its your choice ;)

i personally prefer to follow MaK's guide exactly for all non-xenons. the steps of installing xbr then converting to freeboot are worth it just to avoid the horrible e79. plus i only use hdmi for myself and this helps with the hdmi. also im not good enough to solder to db1f1 and this just makes it much easier.

@ MaK youve come along way. you wouldnt be homebrew mod otherwise.

@kerman if you follow the guide itll take about 30 mins for a beginner and youll be done.
Thanks flashing360 :). I am glad to be a Homebrew Mod :D. Just wish I was a Nand-X section Mod too :p

1. Correct me if Im wrong, but I've read Xell is bit outdated; in case of installing it is better going with XeLLous.

2. On getting the CPU with Xell/XeeLLous, is it mandatory to plug the console to tv with VGA or component cable? HDMI or composite will not work. is this true?
