Best way to remove external switch?

Did a search and couldn't come up with anything.

I want to take the external switch off, so I can paint the case. It's stuck on there pretty good. I tried removing it, but I managed to remove the cover off of the switch. I don't want to pull on it too hard in fear of breaking the switch.

Any recommendations on removal? I don't have putty knife either.

try using a sharp knife and then some white spirit to remove the rest of the sticky stuff on the front panel

That worked. Just hope I didn't destroy it. Luckily most of the sticky padding came off with it too.

Yup, that works quite well! When I did mine I managed to bring the whole sticky pad off - no mess and the same pad is holding it on to my new front panel

flashed firmware disappeared??

I flashed my Hitachi 47 about 6 months ago with i extreme 1.4 and it worked perfect, (here is my question) but i sent it out to have the RROD repaired, (not to Microsoft) and when i got it back it ceased to play my burned backup games. The console though, would still play my original games. can a flashed drive revert back to original state when repaired or worked on? And should i restore original firmware before i flash the drive again, or just flash i extreme back to the drive? Thanx in advance for any replies.

Could of been flashed back to stock
Could be that the laser is on its way out and not rteading back ups

Best thing to do is to hook it up to your PC and check what FW is on it. Or if you know anyone with a back up on a good quality disc, eg a Verbatim disc

You need to flash back to stock before you flash a custom FW to a Hitachi

Sounds like they might have just gave you a different Xbox 360.

I had one with a giant intake fan mounted on top of it fixed.... it came back without the intake fan and without the gaping hole on top of it. Magic! ... However, the insides were still the same.

I've been hearing alot of that, The guy wont return my calls or my texts anymore........ Maybe I'll show up at his house....lol.

yep,,,,, bet he gaveyou a diff board and drive, call him from a diff number (-;
