Big Flashing Problem

Hello,

I'm new to the whole xbox modding thing, and I made a major mistake. I tried to install X3 Config Live using http loading option...problem is it the green bar got stuck about a quarter of the way through. Now my machine turns on and off about three times then I get red, and green blinking lights. Is there any way I can take a step back and revert the chip back to it's factory settings?

more info needed:

what xbox version have you got?
how did you have you switches set when you were flashing?
can you still get to flashbios?

Okay, I tried different configurations for the banks and found one that got me to the bios. I still have some questions...

Now that I'm in the bios is there any way I can reset the the banks that dont work?

Can some one give me a step by step guide on how to install x3 config live?

Is that the only way to install a dash?

did you read the manual on how to flash the bios correctly?

i won't give you a step by step guide - sorry mate. Many people have put alot of hard work in making Top Quality guides on how to do everything on installing you chip. These guides can be found on the forums and some link from the front page. Have a look at all the tutorials.

Ok, thanks for the reply...I have one more question. I've installed the x3cp following bald bouncer's instructions but it didn't say anything on how to get the hd and lan lights working. could you give me a hand?

okay now i'm really screwed everytime I tried to flash a bios onto the chip the green bar would only go about a third of the way then freeze...leaving me with no option but to restart. I'm having the same problem i mentioned above..is there anyway to solve this problem short of buying a new chip?

One more question...I after reading the tut I think I know how to install x3 config live. I have one question before I start, I noticed that there is an ini file with the bios do I need to install this also? And if so how do I do it?

You have a 1.6 box , if you followed the x3ce install instructions to the exact specs then the hard drive and lan lights should work that are on the x3 dip switch on front (or where ever youput it ) of xbox

pikohn: You mentioned earlier that you flashed via http. Thats great. Because in internet explorer as you select which bios to load it tells you right on your PC screen

"Make sure you set the xbox to a 1mb bank"
"On On Off Off"
or
"Off On Off Off"

Recall seeing that? It was there for a reason dude! That is the cause fo your flash haltinghalf way through, because you have selected a bank that is too small to fit the bios your using!
