big messup flashing the x3 bios

all right i was flashing the x3 3108 v16plus bios to my v1.6 xbox when it was flashing it just froze 3/4ths of the way. i waited like ten minuits and shut off the xbox (big mistake huh) well i try it agin in another bank because ive lost control over that bank agin it stop but 1/4th of the way , i waited and turned off the box the only bios that i have on the chip is th m8plus bios and that works but im worried that i cant flash the xecuter 3 bios on my chip any more. if any one could help me id appricieate it, also do any of the external programers work with flashing the xecuter 3 ce .thanks

you've boot on Flash backup rom and try to reflash the first bank?

Sounds like the bank select switches weren't set right to begin with.....

press both power and eject. the X3 logo should show up purple-ish. This is the backup rom.

When you go to use the backup, make sure you press the power button just before you press eject, then hold both down.

Bank 1 is "On On Off Off Off".

If you flashed the "first bank", then the "second bank", and you still have M8 in there, then you did not select the proper banks.

For the X3 Bios you must use a 1MB bank. (On On Off Off Off=1, and Off On Off Off Off=2)

If you select something else you are either choosing a 512K, or 256K bank, and flashing a Bios that large to one of these banks AUTOMATICALLY fails.

i have no controle over my two 1mb banks, when i boot with any two of them it will be a black screen then shut down, is there any way i can fix this i need to flash my chip so i can ftp evox over

It's possible you have a 1.6b (you haven't said, but...). Try ALL 256k BANKS. One of them most probably has FlashBIOS 3.0.3 on it still. If you get it to boot, note which bank it's on. If it's on bank 8 256k, then before flashing set switches to on on off off and you won't erase it.

What I did was go to 1mb and went to load bios from drive c: and loaded a file from it andnow none of my banks will work anymore?

It definitely sounds like you wiped over the only working FlashBIOS (for your chip). You'll either need to connect it to an Xbox 1.0-1.6, hotflash it or get another chip.

Let me know exactly what Xbox version you have.
