you have a switch unit that came with your chip. Have a good look at the switch unit and see if you can work out which one disables you chip. Disable your chip, it will then boot to the original microsoft dash and you should be safe to go on LIVE.

you need a TORX 10 and a TORX 20 driver.

6 screws on the bottom of the xbox require the TORX 20 driver.

1 under each of the rubber feet
1 under each of the silver stickers

TORX 10 for some of the smaller screws inside the xbox to remove the HDD and DVD

Why do you need to get inside?

no sorry, I can't have made myself clear. The X2.6 comes switch a switch unit which should be mounted on the outside of your XBOX. Normall on the front at the left hand side. You have post in the Xecuter 2.6 area - this is the chip you have got isn't it, other this information might be wrong.

It will have three switches on it:

one to enable/disable the chip
one to switch bios banks
one to enable or disable flash protect

OK - that draws me to several conclusions:

1) You have not actually got an Xecuter 2.6 chip
2) Whoever fitted your mod has not installed the switch module for you
3) He might have attatched the switch unit inside the xbox(i have seen this done before)

Are you sure you have an X2.6 chip?

you need to get in touch with him then, your a bit stuffed without the switch panel

You have no way to disable the chip at the moment.

If you've got your box open you can try and ID your chip by comparing against images on Xbox-Scene. Check the "ID your chip" link in my sig. You probably want to start with the Gen. 3 non-cheapmod section. If you can find something that matches what is installed on your box that may give you a better chance of finding out how to disable it. You will need to click on the images to see additional versions. The original X2 had no switches, but instead had jumpers on the board.
