I have a v1.1 XBOX with X3 & Xapt3r installed. I was updatng my bios from 1959 to 3294 and the flashing process froze. After about 5 minutes I powered off the XBOX. When I powered on again, it booted to Avalaunch like normal. But now I can't get to X3 config live anymore. I tried pressing the white button, then pressing both triggers and neither one works. So, I of course tried reflashing but everyway I have tried to reflash doesn't work. It always says "unknown flash! halting. I have tried the switches in every way possible, I have tried disconnecting the external switch, I have tried it over http and from the C:/bios folder, I have also tried other bioses too but all end up with the same result. The only way I havent tried it is by DVD/CD but will that really make a difference? I really want to be able to get to config live again. Am I screwed? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

alright...I successfully flashed with x2 5035. I then tried to flash with x3 3294 again with bank settings on, on, off, off, off and again it stopped about 1/4 of the way. I am about to try an older version of the x3 bios and see if it works. By the way, it would only let me flash the x2 bios using the xecute 2 flashing utility.

Unplug the switch and see if that works.

Thanks for the reply Poida^. I have tried unplugging the switch. It doesn't work either.

I tried flashing again with x3 3294 and it is halting again and I can't boot to Avalaunch anymore like I could before. This sucks!

Now it is getting stranger, I am able to flash with exox M8 with no problems. Every time I try an x2 or x3 bios it erases (the yellow) very fast, then the flashing (green) stops about 1/4 of the way through but only when I use a x2 or x3 bios. Then I use M8 again and it flashes fine. I can use the XBOX fine with M8 but I don't want to. I want my config live back!! Any suggestions now??

DJBOOBY: I did try it with flashx3 and it flashed it with an x2 bios but it would not boot the dashboard. All it does is the power cycles on and off twice then frags. But still, I can successfully flash with evox M8. It won't take any x2 or x3 bios. Thanks again.

I got all the bioses from #xbins. I have all the x3 bioses from x3_1959 to x3_3294. I have 2 xboxes with X3s in them. I tried 3 different x3 bioses. I originally got it to flash the very first time with x3_1959 and could use config live, but when I tried to update it to x3_3294 it started freezing. I have tried with the 1959 again but it freezes now also.

No, I only tried the flashx3 to flash as a program in Avalaunch. I will definitely make the cd-rw like you said when I get home from work.

ok, I used x3 erase first, then I used the disc I created with flashx3 with the x3_3294 bios in the bios folder and it erases the chip fine but flashx3 also freezez about 1/4 of the way through the flash. It still takes the M8 just fine after that. Could I possibly have a bad X3CE?

yeah, I did unplug it from the chip. There are no bent pins either. I did however start seeing an error code when it freezes. It says something like "Failed byte at +0x40000". Any idea what that means?
