I am new owner of XBOX manufactured nov 4 2004.

Is this what I should do assuming an install of X3 mod chipset with 3.03 bios:

1. Flash 1959.bin to Bank 1
2. Flash backup of 3.0f flash bios to Bank 2.

My question is could I then use Bank 2 to reflash my default bank that had the original flash 3.03 bios installed from Team XECUTER? I ask since I have read that a new flash BIOS will come out. I want to make sure that I can always reflash the chip with the latest flash BIOS.

oterhwise I will wait until after Christmas to get the X3.

thanks,

jeff

I haven't been able to do this yet but after doing the softmod thing and when I am about to go flash the chip, the switches need to be on on off off. So when you flash it does on on off off mean just bank 1? Does 3.0.3 have the option to put something into either bank 1 or 2. Since I am not too sure how to put the flashbios3.0.3 into backup. I guess my question is what is the switch position to put 3.03 into backup once x3_1959_v16plus.bin is done with on on off off?

By bank 1 I assume you mean 256Kb banks 1234. 1959 is a 1Mb bios so it needs flashing across 4 of the 8 available banks on your X3. As for how to flash the backup bios I'd like to know also.

There is no switch configuration for the backup BIOS - this is so you cannot overwrite it in error. The only way to flash the backup BIOS is to use the X3CL utility.
