I just bought an xbox and the xecuter chip. solderless.
I installed a 200 meg harddrive also.
None of my dip switches on the front of the unit did anything.
The unit would only fire up with them in 1 configuration.
Needless to say I found on your site flash x3. I proceeded to flash the chip.
It erased the chip and stopped 1/2 way thru the flash. I waited an hour...
Nothing happened. I rebooted the system and nothing works.
Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated...:)
Is there anyway to reset or anything?
I need help fast. Stress is high...

Just another note.
I have never been able to get the bios screen up by pressing the eject button and the power button at the same time. Nothing ever happened.
When the power is off I cannot get the unit to power on pressing the eject and power button at the same time.
any help here would be appreciated.

ok. here's the scoop...
When my buddy installed my chip he skipped a few steps...
My xbox is a 1.6...
I couldnt understand why I could not flash my rom... reason why you ask he put the wrong drivers on my xbox... the backup did not work either... the back up does not work on most 1.6's...
So what I am doing is going over to a buddy's house and I am going to flash my chip in his unit...
i am concerned though... how can i flash my chip in his unit, if i remove his chip first and replace it with mine... it still should not work... if i turn on his xbox and boot to the flash screen then unplug his ship and replace it with mine would I not kill his system?
can anyone shed a little light on the subject?

I had an older xbox in the house... guess what... 1.6 bios... I did the hot swap.
Leave the power on. Goto the bios screen by pressing the eject and the power button.
The blue screen will appear. Once this has been accomplished. Lift the mod chip from the board.
Careful not to touch anything else. I changed 1 wire at a time and plugged the damaged chip back in.
Needless to say I had already burned a disk containing the Bios needed for 1.6... I loaded the bios and it reflashed. The unit shut down and I booted up the damaged chip to see what would happen...
It worked fine. I powered down the unit and placed the original xbox back together and placed the bad-now good chip in the xbox. Yes it lives... When doing this 4 hands are better than 2... Replace 1 wire at a time. awsome... Where did I learn this? reading the threads here... I spent the best side of a day fooling around with this unit... Now its done. Good luck to everyone...
