bios flash will not complete

i installed my x3 with no glitch, it would ftp successfully and was able to change from x3 config-->evox-->nexgen-->msdash-->evox.

Yesterday it started fragging on both 1mb banks 1-4, 5-8 occasionally (works fine in disabled [msdash.xbe] mode!) so i resoldered the d0 as suggested in an earlier post, which sorted that. and it worked, Today the fragging reappeared but permanently so i resoldered the header.
I have now been able to install using the 256k flashbios 3.0.0 backup to give meflashbios 3.01with all banks open as recommended by xecuter.

The problem Now: no other bios will flash completely, it will erase the previous flash but then hangs around 15% into the flash eeprom stage.

Any ideas?

The same thing happened to me...

I was able to flash a 256KB bios (M8).... but every time I tried to flash a 1024KB bios, flashbios would hang at about %25.

I put in a support thread with modchipman and they issued me an RMA saying that that was a common problem.

In the computer world, if you can't flash an eeprom chip -- it's usually dead.

this does sound similar, but with mine, it will flash the 1mb bios' but not with anything other than flashbios. I think i may have to solder out the header and start again.

tried contacting the vendor and received
Problem will be your install or damage to the modchip caused on install and/ or fitting position etc

Thanks
have tested all the voltages across the points and found no problems. it will flash an x2 bios to any of the 1mb or the 2mb bank but still not the x3. Any furthers ideas are most welcome

Lite-On Doesn't Respond After Full Dump

I'm struggling here.

I just full dumped a 8xxx v2, got three good dumps. I checked it by spoofing to a different drive.

However, when i solder it all back up, i am not getting any response from the drive at all.

Anybody know what i did wrong/ what i broke?

Are you sure you connected it exactly how it was? Try rechecking it hard to solve problem on the lite-on since its the first time were experianceing and testing things out
