Bios + Flashing by Http Q's

I have a Xecuter X3 CE on the way, I have a few questions about Bios and Flashing by Http.

First off I solder lots and I know that soldering it to the Motherboard will be no problem at all.

But I see that you can flash the Bios onto the X3 by http and I see people with pictures off computer screens, is the flashing done on the computer while its hooked up to the Xbox via ethernet and router? And all you do is enter the IP shown on the FlashBios screen?

Second, I see that Bios 3459 (or 3 somthing) is a commonly used bios. I go to #Xbins for these correct? And I will change my switches to the correct bank and then flash it via Http?

Third, will I need to constantly need to update bois? If so how often?

Fourth, what do all the Modes do like 1Mb and 2Mb and 256K stuff do? Whats the difference?



After all this I can put in a game and download it to my HDD? Or how does this work?

I could never get flashing over http to work so I just burnt it to a cdrw and did it that way. 3294 is the newest X3 bios and you can get it from xbins, there's supposedly 1 more bios release coming for the X3, but who knows when that is. The different banks are for flashing different bios's to your chip, say you want an X3 bios, but you also want to play around with a linux bios or 2. Yep you can copy a game to your HDD using a program call dvd2xbox and you can get it from xbins as well

Flashing over HTTP is the esyest way to flash. I have my Xbox connected to a router and when i chose flash bios over http in on the X3CE menu the ip shows on the screen. It auto recives IP if your router/modem is working as a dhcp server.
Then you just open the explorer (or eny browser) and type in the IP example "http://10.0.0.2"
Then you will get the flash screen in your browser window. And here you chose "browse" to select the bios. And then just press the flash botton.

And I do the internet explorer over my computer correct?


Im going to need to get the Bios from #Xbins, then browse for it on Http flashing then select it?

Would I be able to transfer files like dvd2xbox onto my xbox by http after I have the FTP program?

Yes you do the explorer on your computer.
And you have to get the bios from xbins. Then when you boot your Xbox you hold both eject & power botton, then the light on your X3 "switch panel" will become purple and boot the flashbios screen. There you select "flash over http". Then go to your PC an open explorer (then type in Xbox IP). select "browse", select bios and flash. After flasing you boot your Xbox normaly and then you can transfer files/games using FTP.

After you have a hacked bios running, you download programs and apps via ftp. Get flashfxp It is free and works essentially the same way as http. Ie has a ftp program that really sucks. Don't use it. You will need flashfxp or filezilla or something to use xbins anyway so use it to transfer apps.

Yeah I already got the dvd2xbox and the Bios on my comp ready to flash.


I am just wondering, but how do I put the dvd2xbox file onto my xbox? Can I do it by http?

When I put dvd2xbox onto the xbox do I need to put it onto another bank? If so which one?

Are you retarded? You ftp it into a file called Apps on F. If you did not use an auto installer at all, you will have to create this file. Your drive is set up as C,D ,E, and F unless you have a Holmes HDD like me and have a G drive. Put dvd2xbox in F/Apps then direct your dash to look for it at this location. Then Drink. I personally am tanked.

First of all, make sure that the bios you will flash is correct for your xbox version...The x3 bios that you downloaded has 2 versions, X3_3294.bin for xbox v1.0 - v1.5 and X3_3294_v16plus.bin for xbox v1.6/v1.6...b
