Bios flashing xecuter 3

Ok i have finally got the xecuter 3.3 properly installed and now when i try to flash with the bios thing it wont read from the disk it says halting. Anyone help me???

Helping us is good! It makes us feel good. Then we are in a good mood and put more effort into helping you! So flash halting is most likely your flash protect switch in the wrong position. Check it

well i have tried it with the switch in both positions and i have also had the two first banks on and off none of that works am i possibly trying to use the wrong bios? i am using X3 3029, also now all of a sudden my chip wont enable it only works if i hit both buttons at the same time. can anyone help me?

well maybe the media you burned it on is not compatible?

I'd like to confirm which version xbox you are using. That will tell me which bios you should be using and which bank setting. Thanx

I just had a thought, you said you tried the protect switch on and off. I didn't ask you which one though...there is one on the X3 chip and one on the external switch. U need to make sure both are in the off position.

What type of media are you using? DVD works best, failing that use CDRW.

well i dont have the external switch and i am flashing through the browser

Yet again, something that would have helped in the first place.
It's alot harder without the switch only because you have less options.
(The X3 boots to bank 1 by default if there is no switch plugged in, therefore bank 2 is fair game if you can get a switch)

By browser, you mean you are flashing HTTP? This does not involve reading from any disc, please fill me in on what you are actually trying to do. Leave no details out. It will be much eaiser to determine a solution for you.

Question, you said you had tried 1st and 2nd bank. What was it that you changed, in order to select these banks without a bank switch attached??

i have no clue im a total noob man i followed the tutorials, but somewhere down the line i broke off one of the prongs inside the chip where you plug the bank select switch, now that doesent work, and i have a pro swith i bought but it didnt come with any wires and i dont know how to install it, is my chip worthless now? Also now that i uninstalled everything put back to normal exept didnt take out the pinheader and the 3 wires soldered to the back of my xbox now my xbox says it needs repair and wont load. omg!!! im freaking out!!! lol is everything junk now or am i still in the game?

Great!!! on top of that i just broke a trace where you solder the grey wire!!! now i need a conductive pen and dont know where to get one but online! so if it even is possible to fix ill be down at least a week

Drunken: You are most definitely still in the game. Your xbox and your chip are both salvageable. If you have the skills to repair the broken trace, go ahead and do that. If your uncertain, please take it to a professional to have the mobo repaired. Any of the installers on this site should have no problems getting you up and running in less than an hour. Also im sorry for the double post but i dont know where to edit previous posts, anyway, no i dont live there I live in phoenix az in the us. I called around and no one will touch a motherboard, i tried to repair the trace when i plugged it in i got red and green flashing on the eject button and nothing on the tv. Are there people i can send my box to to have it repaired and finish installing the chip, even with the problem i described about the chip in my other post?

1st post, if you get the mobo working you chip WILL work without the switch. I hope you don't have a 1.6B coz that'll complicate things, but it will work.

2nd post, there are plenty of people you can send it to. How much they charge though i'm not sure. Before you try that, search the internet and find out how much you can get a new mobo for. I'm not sure in US dollars... then see what it costs to repair.

goto the Traders section of the Xecuter forums, you'll find someone close by, or you can advertise.

Llama.com I think is one of the trusted places online that'll square up the mobo.
I would suggest that if you have a friend, or someone from this forum in your area with an xbox pre 1.6b that will allow you to set your chip in their box it could easily be reprogrammed. (Again, someone from this forum could get the whole deal poppin for ya)
