BIOS frag problem

I have just modded my xbox with the Xecuter3 CE on my 1.6 board system. I was able to update flashbios with no problems. Everything was fine until I downloaded the m8+16 bios. I flashed it and now it frags. The other memory banks boot up fine with flashbios and the regular xbox OS but when I try to boot up with the m8 bios it has trouble staying on and when it does it FRAGS.

I have seen other solutions for this problem and it appears that there are particular solder points that certain BIOS' use. Is there any particular solder points associated with m8+16 that I should look out for? Is it ok for me to flash with the m8+16 BIOS or can I only update the Xecuter3 with the Xecuter BIOS?

I was looking through the forums and found that I can erase the banks but do I have to have the switch in ON,ON,OFF,OFF,OFF position to fix the messed up bank or does it automatically know?
Also, does flashing from the back up flash (purple light) affect that bios or my regular ones? It may be a newb question but I dont want to mess up my backup.

Why would you use anything other than an x3 bios on the X3 chip?

I heard that they had different features like for instance the X3 can play games from the HD better and the m8 can play media from DVD. Since I dont have a HD to upgrade it with yet, I figured I would just burn DVD backups.

Is that correct or is this just the dashboard that affects this?

it doesnt really metter , any way it will be alot easier for you to flash it with x3 bios and then you can flash the rest of the banks with what ever bios you want( m8_1.6) through FTP , you should start with the x3 .

It does not affect the backup bios. You can however reflash the backup bios in the X3 bios.

Well I reflashed with the X3 bios and it worked! I guess either the image was bad or its just plain incompatible or something. Thanks to you guys and this forum for helping me out.
