My friend has modded my xbox using on of the first Xecuter 2 chips and then removed it and flashed the on board bios chip. It all works fine but I have recently put in a 160gb drive and it is not registering some 30gb and I believe that I need to update the bios.

I have the following bios at the moment 4979.67 (Xecuter 2)

Any ideas how I go about flashing the onboard chip and what bios I might need to utilise the new hard drive fully

Thanks for your time

Read up in the TSOP tutorials on Xbox-Scene.

Edit: one thing I just read and didn't know before (since I've never done much looking into TSOP flashing myself) is that only the 1.0 Xbos has 1MB for a bios chip. Later units were limited to 256KB. If this is correct, then unless you have a 1.0 xbox you can't use the new X2 bios. Too big.
