Bios needed to go on XBOX LIVE?

Hi, I have a v1.4 xbox and I have the xecuter 2.6 installed the guy that installed it said he couldnt flash the TSOP or something so he said I could use Bank1 for my modded gaming, and Bank2 for playing on LIVE...he said this could be done but can it? And if so what bios do I need and how do I flash it to Bank2?

On bank2 is exactly the same as bank1 because it keeps overwriting it for some reason? I'm not sure why any ideas?

You'd need to make a 1MB BIOS ( 512k X2 BIOS + 512k Original MS BIOS).

Flash the entire chip and then it will work. X2 BIOS Manager can help to make the 1MB BIOS, but you need to provide the BIOSes yourself!

wouldnt the x2 bios have to go on bank 2 as i recently read a tutorial which said if the hacked bios is not on bank 2 you will have problems.
"the hacked bios MUST BE PLACED ON BANK 2 TO WORK. Sorry for yelling, but this can not be stressed enough. If you flash your hacked bios to bank 1 you will have problems.. i can almost guarentee it."

Unfortunately the chap who wrote it failed to mention that the tutorial is for the EVOX M8 BIOS only.

You will NOT have any problems with the X2 BIOS on bank 1.

ok thanks for that i thought it applied to every xecuter bios, so if i wanted to play on live i could put my hacked xecuter 4981 bios on bank 1 and the original on bank 2?

just to check recently flashed a bad eeprom to my xbox and completly trashed it so ive just ordered a programmer to flash it again and get it working again but i needed to embed an eeprom and the only bios that did that is the 4981 bios. so i embeded the eeprom to it so i can flash my xbox when i get the programmer but i just realised my box is a 1.6 would this bios still work? and to use a programmer do i need to remove my chip?

There's a modified copy of FlashBIOS around - search Xbox scene forums for it.

Yes, you'd have to remove the chip in order to flash it with a programmer.

Are you aware that unless you'll be flashing a backup of the existing EEPROM back to the 1.6, the HDD (if locked) won't be useable?

The modified FlashBIOS has an option to reflash the EEPROM with a 'dummy' version, but enough for you to load ConfigMagic and do the job properly.

i think you missed the link i posted, i was asking if the flashbios from the link is the same one as you were refering to as being the modified flashbios

think i found it but it wasnt on xbox-scene had to google it, i just have to wait for my programmer to arrive and ill hopefully post back with a success.:D
