BIOS Problems Here

I've modded a couple hundred boxes and at least half of them with the X3ce, i always flashed 1meg banks 1234 & 5678 with the current version of X3 when the mod was installed. I've got one back today with the typical "my buddy was playing and yanked the box off the shelf and it doesn't work now"

it wouldn't boot from backup or bank 1234, but luckily did from 5678. i booted into X3 Live and reflashed 1234 and 5678 with X3 3294 v16+ and both work perfectly. backup BIOS still wouldn't work so i reflashed it with 256k FlashBIOS 3.03 and so says X3 Live that the backup flash was successfully reflashed with FlashBIOS 3.03 but again the backup BIOS simply refuses to boot at all and keeps a black screen.

i tried loading the FlashBIOS into a 256 bank and booting from it and i get the same thing (yes i had the switches set correctly) so i thought maybe a corrupt FlashBIOS file but I've redownloaded it from XBINs as well as XBOX-Scene and all give the same black screen symptoms.

suggestions would be nice, I'd hate to have this one have a problem again and then not have a backup BIOS to boot from (customer is a real PITA).

FWIW the box is a v1.6b

thanks in advance

i flashed the backup with both 3.03 and 3.01 just to make sure, both flashed via X3 Live, that's the only way to flash the backup. i dont see how the eject board could be at fault, the bios banks flash they just don't seam to wanna boot, i can flash a 1 meg to 5678 and it works perfectly, but i can't boot from 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 with a either of the FlashBIOS versions installed to any of them as a 256k flash.

i've now tried flashing via FTP directly to the Admin folder as well and i get the same results, i've double checked and it's a 1.6, not a 1.6b so the 3.01 256k FlashBIOS should do the trick here but no such luck. i did try flashing from disc but X3 Live doesnt display the files on the disc. the DVD drive is working perfectly in all other instances and can read all files (in a file manager) but when selecting flash from DVD it Live just doenst find any files.....

So you're getting a blank screen with FlashBIOS.

Are you using the standard AV cables (remembering that FlashBIOS doesn't work over component)?
