BIOS problems

I've got a v1.6 Xbox modded with an Xecuter3CE. It's installed with the Xapt3r solderless adapter. The installation went well, and I got the Flashbios 3.01 screen easily. I flashed with X3_3294 with the switches in on/on/off/off/off. Now I get 3 quick boots terminating in a FRAG. From reading around, I've read that I probably flashed with the wrong BIOS, that I'd need X3_3294_v16. One problem is that I can't find that bios on #xbins.

Can I flash this chip with an entirely different BIOS? Like EvoX for example? I don't need the X3 bios do I?

Another question is... Is that BIOS bank nuked now, is there any way to flash over that particular bank again, or do I have to switch to the other bank and hope I don't nuke that one too?

Thanks for the help

Hmm, can't edit..

I found the the V16plus BIOS, silly me, it was in the same .rar LOL

A little more info that I meant to add to the first post. I can get to Flashbios 3.03 without a problem, and I can also get to the backup by pushing both power and eject at the same time. So I guess I just need to know if my default BIOS bank is nuked, and how to get it patched up if it's not.

If you can access flashbios 3.03 like you said, you can just re-flash the correct bios over to the 1st 1mb bank which is "on on off off off" switch position.

First, boot with your back-up rom and then re-flash with this switch position.

Yup, I booted to the backup, then flashed it with the correct BIOS with the switches in the same position. Works fine. Now I just need to install a dash, and see if I can figure out why the switch doesn't light up. It lights up red when I boot with the chip disabled like it's suppose to, but doesn't light up any other timea... Oh well, that's for a different day and a different place, it's certainly not a BIOS problem.

Sounds like the blue LED is faulty. If it doesn't light up purple in the backup bios then you know its definately the LED. I did a friends box and his wouldn't light the red LED but we just left it and its been fine for over a year.
