Is a bios, chip specific. In other words I have a Xenium Ice. Would I have to flash that only with and Xenium Ice bios, or can I install an X3 bios?

Depends on what bios you are talking about.

X3 bios is compatible with X3 chips and no other chips.

All the other bios are compatible with any chip.

Plus, Xenium does not have their own bios (maybe never). They only have an OS. To take full advantage of your Xenium, you need an OS and a bios
(eg. Xecuter 4981 bios, Evolution-X bios, .. ).

Checkout these links for more info on your chip,

I think your confused. Evolution has a Dashboard and a bios. You need the bios to run unsign code. That means, you need to flash a bios to your chip and then install a dashboard to your xbox. Consult Xenium forums on how to use your chip. You can also use Google and lots of reading. Checkout http://www.evolutionx.info/

Note: Your not going get a straight answer in this forum since you own an Xenium.

The fact you are in here, asking these questions really underscores the biggest objection many of the TeamXecuter forum members have against TeamXodus and their Xenium chips - once you get beyond the Linux functionality of the Xenium OS Bootloader, and want to actually play games, backup games, etc., you need another bios ... and they don't provide support for that.

You are going to need to load an alternate bios. Depending upon your xbox model, you will need a standard or 1.6 version of either the Evox M8 BIOS, or the Xecuter X2 BIOS.

Once one of theses BIOS files are loaded, you can run whatever dashboard you like. I recommend you look into Slayer's Evox AutoInstaller disc for a "kitchen sink" install of the Evox dashboard and associated apps, but others will suggest just manually FTPing Avalaunch, UnleashX (or use the new UnleashX installer - no experience in that one, so I can't comment).

Good luck - but STRONGLY suggest you try the forusm at www.teamxods.com, or www.xbox-scene.com. You might get some help in the X2 sections of this forum, but the minute you say "Xenium" you are likely to be shot down.
