Thanks!! 8) I was never a huge fan of regular brown, green and black cammo but urban cammo just has a slick look to it!!

hey quick question i know htis is an old thread but i wanted to know if that was handpainted on or if it was a skin or something, it looks to sharp to be a painting.

Wow, very nice. I want my drive to be see through like that, but have no clue how to get a peice to hold the cd in place like yours.

No it was hand painted with vinyl fabric spray, same multi-layering technique used on controllers. I used painter's tape and liquid masking but the liquid masking is not good for vinyl dye. ou have to be really careful when you are stripping off the tape or masking material.

for the cammo just lay down your white (vinyl dye is waht I used), tape over what you want to stay white and spray the light gray, tape over the waht you want to keep light gray and so on with all the other colors. Just remember when you are taping try to follow a nice cammo pattern cause sometimes you see that people try to do cammo but the patterns are all crazy and it doesn't look as good. For the controller water drop effect, just lay down your base color (in my case it was black) then lay it flat, spray water drops from a regular spray bottle, and at an angle spray your enamel white (has to be enamel paint). Let the water evaporate, don't use a heatgun because it will move your drops around and you don't want that. After it is all dry clear it and our done. Looks awesome...Good Luck to you!!!

I have a BenQ drive so all you have to do is cut the pattern out and leave the centerpiece that comes with the drive. If you want paint over it later. Hope this helps!!
