bios select acting up

had my x3 in for a while now (bought soon after release) and everything was working fine.

Everything still is working fine, well almost.

booting to bios 1959 works fine as expected and everything is ok.

however booting bios disabled does not work, that is it works selecting in the 1959 bios, but holding power has no effect.

I cannot boot backup bios by holding reset+eject either, in fact doing this booted bios disabled!

any ideas?

The logo changes to to colour of whatever mode does boot.

That is it doesn't change if the mode doesn't.

So you think the wires may have come lose inside? Spose 'll open it up tonight and take a look if I can find my torx driver.

so the X3 logo turns red and still boots X3 1959? In which case, you need to check your d0 point in case it's shorting with something else.

The power/eject thing has a knack to it. Press them together but get to the power button before the eject.. I hope that makes sense.

no it boots blue bios 1959 bios.

and red when disabled, just that you have to do power + eject to do disabled! (or select from 1959 bios)

can't get backup bios atall.

the odd thing is it used to work fine! all my bios before 1959 were done from the flashbios backup as I was waiting for a wireless adaptor to get it on my network

so what you think then, leads to the power/eject might have come lose?

hold the power button in and the Xbox should boot disabled.

A quick press and should be enabled.

Power and Eject (but press power just before eject) for backup BIOS.

If this isn't working then def check cables - it's not a X3 BIOS feature.

Got my pro switch today so i had to open u pthe box to move the cables so i finally had a look at the cause of my problem.

Turns out the socket to the x3 on the reset adaptor has totaly sheared off. very nasty, no idea when or why this happened.

The other lower socket seems to work fine though (they are both the same right? no problem in using it?)

So alls ok again for now, hope it stays right this time!!
