Bios still reads 3.0.1 after Flashing

I followed instructions for BIOS flashing, using the FTP method. Everything went just like the guide indicated. I used the 3.0.3v, it still says Flash BIOS 3.0.1 Is there supposed to be a menu or something? - OR - Do I have to install a "skin" - or something? My Xb v1.3

Its posted here hundreds of times...u need to get a hacked bios from #xbins...u cannot download it from a website as it contains m$ code and is therefore illegal.
search a bit ..all the info u need is in these forums.

the latest x3 bios u need is version 3108

I followed the instructions for bios flashing,using flash via http.everything went just like the guide indicated. the bar is full green the xbox turn off. i turn on and still say FLASHBIOS 3.0.1 my xb v1.6

Well thank god that 3.0.3 didn't take, 1.6 doesn't work with it. You MUST use 301 to run the 1.6 until you flash it with a HACKED Bios. (Only legal Bios is Cromwell, which does not run games or dashboards but instead runs Linux!)

If you want to play backup games, or just do some region free DVD viewing you need a Bios like the X3 3108 v16plus for 1.6, or for less functionality, Evox M8 PLUS edition for 1.6
