I have the x3 chip installed solderlessly and connected to the lcd control panel. I've flashed bios 3029 via cd-rw and everything went smooth. It went through the whole process and the xbox shut down when it was done. When I go to power it back up, the "X" logo goes blue and then shuts down immediatly. What's wrong with the bios? or is it the bios?

x3 3029.bin since the other one is for v1.6 xbox's
Good. I would assume you have set your switches to on on off off off? If not, do so and reflash. If that didn't work, try flashing to your 5678 banks (off on off off off). If that didn't work, try download another bios since the previous one might be corrupt. If that still doesn't work, then your best bet is to recheck your solder.

what should i look for in the connection with the solderless adaptor since that's what i've used. I've tried your other suggestions as far as two different 3029 files and the 5678 banks. It still does the same thing.

ooops. Forgot that point about the solderless part. Make sure you have 3 blue lights on the xapt3r and the red light on the d0 wire (don't think it's on all the time. Hehehe.. don't remember b/c I don't use it). Do this but this is a long shot. Disconnect the X3 control panel cable from the X3 chip and try to reflash. It will flash to your 1234 banks automatically. I wonder if you have a faulty cable or X3 control panel switch. In fact disconnect the lcd cable also until you diagnose your problem.

I have this universal adaptor for the x3 and not the xaptor three. There are 2 blue L.E.D.'s on the x3 when powered up. I did try disconnecting both lcd and control panel and loaded the BIOS. Everything ran smoothly like the tut's, but when I reboot, it still does the same thing. I even tried with the original switch that came with the x3. Man i'm fricken stumped at what to do now.

hmm, I don't know if a universal adaptor will work for X3. I only know that the Xapt3r works with X3 and not the adaptor for x2.6 so I assume other adaptors won't work with X3. I assume there are differences so most likely that is the problem.

Before I shop around for the xaptor3 do you know why everything else would work fine as far as loading the BIOS and such?

can't tell you the logistics of it. Perhaps someone has an answer for you. Sorry. But I bet once you install the Xapt3r, everything will work as it should. Check your PM, I might be able to help.
