My brother has a launch day 360 that his kids use that had a TS-H943A MS28 but the drive died over a year ago. Well at the time his mate had a spare Hitachi drive, don't know what model it was but to cut a long story short the hitachi was spoofed but don't know as wat, think Lite-On. His backups have always played fine even his ap2.5 ones and never uses xbox live, now that XGD3 titles have come out i don't know what he will able to do other than play any orig XGD3 games. What can i do.

Ideally you need to get a Sammy drive if that was the original drive :wink:
Spoofed drives do not play AP25 or XGD3 games (could change with future CFW but not available yet) :cool2:

i have a couple here that stick with no disc in the tray but otherwise are fine. they may only need a new drive belt to cure the sticking problem i just havn't got round to refurbing them yet. if your trying to keep cost down i could do you one for 15 delivered a new one will be around 25.

I gave away a xenon xbox to my friend with a Jan. 2009 LITEON spoofed as a MS25. Why you may ask, a spoofed LITEON? Because he would not be able to pay for repairs even if i told him to. The laser of the original is weak so it gave dirty disc errors. He wanted one for free, so i gave him that one. I have a MS25 PCB that i will use to update and i also have a NAND backup of that xbox, so whenever a dashboard rolls i can re-write the NAND and use the MS25 PCB to update.
OP: This box plays XGD3 titles very well (or at least mine does), but have this in mind that by spoofing you flag your box for a ban. Do not connect live. If you have a NAND backup, you can restore any flags the dashboard created, but you will need to get a hold of the original drive in order to update the dash. If that's your only option against all advise and warnings, experiment and live with the outcome.

@ the OP - spoofing is not supported in any way by the new fw.......it's a ban flag, and can also cause games to stop booting
