Hello all. First time I've had an issue like this. Was running SX OS 2.9.2, and currently on OFW 9.1.0 without issues. Decided today to update to 2.9.4 beta. Downloaded the boot file and copied it over to the SD Card. Upon reboot of SX OS, I get the splash screen and then a black screen. Copied the 2.9.2 boot.dat file back to the SD card, and I get the same issue.

I can boot into the SX OS menus just fine. I can also launch a secondary payload and get into a different CFW without issue. SD Card is Fat32 and checks out fine.

Any idea why I can't get past the black screen on 2.9.2 or 2.9.4 boot.dat?

A full reboot might work. Try holding the power button for like 12 seconds to turn it off, the try and turn in back on.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've already tried that multiple times. I've also tried the 2.9.2, 2.9.3, and 2.9.4 boot.dat files with no changes. I just can't understand why simply replacing the boot file would cause this issue now, when it was find before. Also, why can I boot into the SX OS menu without issue, but can't load the FW?

Just some more info...I do not have a emunand set up. While trying to investigate, I've come across something about RCM mode? Did this somehow get turned on?

Auto rcm mode corrupts the boot loader and boots straight into RCm without having to use a plastic jig in the joy con railing.
I also ran into this issue, thats why I suggested what I did. It fixed mine for me.
But I also re-initialized my Switch and reformatted th sd card and started fresh!

Re-reading your post, I think you have to upgrade the ofw to the latest also.

I can boot into OFW without a jig no problems. I don't think I'm in RCM mode. Right now, I 'm trying a different SDcard. I was able to boot past the Nintendo screen, but couldn't do much as I didn't have a license on the root of the card.
I started over from scratch and re-formatted the card again to Fat32. The problem, it seems, was a corrupt license file for some reason. I regenerated a new activation and license file and can boot back up to the homescreen.
