I installed an Xecuter 2.6lite on my version 1.6b xbox. When I try to boot it up with the chip on, the screen stays blank and after 8-10 seconds the eject button will go orange. Then the dvd will not open. It runs fine with the chip off. I have not flashed any bios because I can't get it to that stage. I am 99% sure that the chip is soldered properly. I am not sure what to do now from what i read i have to buy a programer that -ucks wanted to be up and runing tonight :evil: :evil: :evil:

m8, have a look at the sticky threads at top of forum, theres a thread there about this problem.
basically u need to flash the chip to flashbios 303 to work on the 1.6b xbox, sounds like u got an older chip which still has the old bios on it.
u can either flash it via another xbox that is older or buy a programmer and flash it with that. programmers r really cheap, the good news is it sounds like your install went well as its not fragging
look through the posts m8 and u will find plenty of threads with this topic in but really everything is answered in sticky.

Thanks dcmad just ordered a programer if is was fragging doe's that mean i could not play games with the chip off well that one good thing that come out of the night thanks again
