hey guys, new here. read a lot on these forums over the years, but as of now have run in to a problem i can't for the life of me figure out.

As the title suggests, i can't intro a new blank tx unlocked pcb to replace the factory 0225.

it keeps throwing 0x80 regardless of whether i intro it, lite-on erase, or mpx01 probe trick.

i'm using the x360usb pro, and a ck3i kit. i've tried various sata cables, usb cables, usb ports, and so far 3 different computers. running windows 7, and a mac running win7 as a virtual machine. my x360 is on the latest firmware, and i have the latest drivers, and latest jf.

the switch is set to the unlocked position on the pcb, and the on/off switch on the x360 is in the off position, which i understand to be correct?

i extracted the firmware with no problems, however since attempting to intro the unlocked pcb, i can't even intro my stock 0225.

any help would be appreciated, i'm tired of going in circles! thanks!

@CrispyToast he said using a virtual machine
they are basically programs that you download them from the internet that make you another "pc" inside your pc and that pc can be run mac or win or any sh*t outthere
some programmers use it to test their viruses, my cousin does :)

Might be worth rebooting your PC and starting again, once youve got your stock into vendor mode and have your key saved, hook up the unlocked pcb ensure WP is set to 1, in mkt flash 32 refresh the drive and ensure it comes up with liteon dg16d4s, then press intro and it should go into vendor mode allowing you to write.

how many attempts should it take to intro? 5/10? more?
is it advisable to to the liteon erase method on the stock pcb as a last resort? i've rebooted a bunch of times also. i do have 4 hdd's and 2 optical drives connected. i've heard these things *could* cause problems but i assume that's for people using onboard sata?
i actually tried it on a freshly formatted laptop with win7 to no avail.

by wp1, you mean unlocked? i have the newer 1.1 pcb with the external switch.

thanks for the suggestions, i'll give it some more attempts shortly n see what happens.

by the way, i'm not powering the ck3 from my psu, i knocked up a 12v adapter to run from a wall socket. that couldn't be an issue?

sorry, i should have explained. it's a molex connector i soldered on to an external hdd power adapter. so, max 12v. there are 3 and 5 volt lines, similar to what you'd find in a computer. perhaps i'll try that.

i've been attempting to intro my stock drive like suggested earlier, but no luck so far. as far as i can tell though, everything is powered correctly. it isn't the first time i've used it.

that just dawned on me after i posted. if molex is 12v and 5v, how do people power it via their pc? switch out a the 5v wire with a 3.3 sata as a custom job? or maybe i'm missing something...

if 3.3v is the solution, it shouldn't be a problem to resolve, other than sourcing a 3 volt line. care to shed some light?

wait, so you don't mean 3v needs to go in to the ck3, but in to the dvd drive? if so, i'd assume that's what's happening.

i suppose the pcb is defective or something, as i've exhausted every possible option i've read/been suggested/thought of.

so, i've had success. decided to knock up a molex connector from some spare psu leads i had. turns out it was my wall socket psu. strange since it's worked before, but nonetheless, a happy ending!

rigged up a nice port on a spare pci slot so i don't have to open my computer to flash in the future.

thanks for steering me right guys. i would have made it in to a boat anchor otherwise.
