Blaster ck3 w/ Lite-on

I have looked through the forums and read the tutorial, but I can still not fond out if I need to use SATA along with the USB. It sounds to me like I only need USB but it also makes sense to need SATA.
So my question is, with the Lite-On drive, do I only need to use USB or do I need to use SATA also?

all drives need SATA, usb only req'd for the 7 series drives using probe

The guides (pretty much all 10,00o of them) state that you have to use sata on every drive - and usb is ONLY ever used for grabbing the dvd key from a Liteon 74850.

I have no idea how you could be confused - the guides (here anyway) are super clear.

Go read them then. They never say you must use BOTH for the lite on, they only say you must use USB with lite on. I'm not an idiot. I have read the tutorials.

Theres not really much point arguing about this buddy.
The upshot is, you flash all drives with sata and read the key of a 7 series liteon with either usb or rs232.
