Hello guys.

I had my benq drive bricked when I tried to update to LT+3, due to power grid failure during flashing.
I was on LT+1.1 and dash 13599.

I was able to unbrick it and insert OFW, for update to the dashboard 16537
At this point I noticed that the drive wasn't opening or responding at all to my commands, but probably it didn't before also when it was bricked.

I reflashed it with LT+3.0 and it still doesn't open tray.

Now, the light is normal green, but when I press open tray, it starts blinking and only stops a fews seconds later. The tray doesn't open and I dont hear any kind of sound of trying to open.

I have my drive case open, and sometimes the laser blinks red light

Appreciate your help

Really?

I can flash and reflash as I want... I'm able to read and to write on the drive.

What do you think the problem is?

This can be a problem with the flash but given that you have allready re flashed (I'm assuming multiple times) it and it's still not working then chances are there's a faulty component somewhere on the drive PCb.

Make sure that your ribbon cable is inserted properly. Check the wires make sure they are properly soldered. Scan the board looking for any visible damage. Also check the console motherboard for damage around the eject button and the drives wire sockets. Even if you can't see anything damaged there is likely something broken it's just not visible to the eye but rather a meter. Also try manually open the drive and then let the xbox close it when you turn it on.

If nothing works then get a new drive or drive PCb

Check the drive motor before you replace the drive. Make sure the track for both the laser and the drive tray aren't fudged up. Used to happen to me all the time with some specific phats.

Tried your suggestions.

I couldn'tfind any damage, or something broken.

Its interesting that when I turn on the console, a red light flashes on the laser.

Other thing: when I press eject, a green light starts blinking on the front panel, but when I press eject again (as if I was closing the tray), the green light stops blinking, and the laser red flashes and the laser moves a littlle bit (almost as if it was waiting on some disk to read)

It looks that some information is getting to the laser reader, otherwise it wouldn't blink or move a little... I think.

I've start to believe that it is really the motor drive. How can I test this? only replacing?

Pretty much. The green light blinking is a standby indicator for the drive about to open. Pressing eject again rids of this.

When the tray closes, the laser will re-seat and move around to identity and read the new disc you put in. It should make a full travel up and down at this point, and the disc should spin for a little while.

well it doesn't move at all. The laser doesn't move and the tray doesn't close. I tried with one DVD in it, along with the magnet. But nothing.

Only thing I can notice is a little movement of the laser, but only the little white head of the laser, moving up and down.
