My friend and I just installed his x3 yesterday... went smoothly. Flashed the bios, loaded avalaunch, i unlocked the harddrive as u can tell with the #5. Suddenly, x3 led powered off after installing xbox media center and wouldn't let me download anymore programs (ie. config magic, etc.). I turn off the box, x3 won't power on, and i get the unlocked hdd screen. checked solder points, look fine... any ideas?

Do a search on FRAG....this sounds like this should take care of your problem..... Even if you checked your soldering make sure to check one more time....Also that there is no solder splash anywhere!!
...ya. this was my worst nightmare! Finally got it working again. Seems like it was easier than I figured. My friend tried resoldering all the connectors and he couldn't figure out what he was doing wrong, so he gave me the motherboard and I looked at it. After removing the x3 chip I noticed that pin 15 (power) was uneven with all the other pins... how stupid can we be! After soldering it back to its neutral position, it powered up and worked. Great job noob!
Major Xbox Problem PLEASE HELP
okay so my xbox is flashed, samsung ms25. every since i got it flashed a couple of weeks ago i've been having problems. sometimes it comes on and i can play a game, and sometimes i get red rings with a error. when i play it without a hdd it works more so than with the hdd. with the hdd it freezes within 20-30 minutes. I dont understand what the problem is and its hard for me to even explain the problem bc it doesnt happen all the time. i cannot play with a hardrive so i can't sign into my profile, therefore its kind of pointless. even without the hardrive 50% of the time it doesn't work. PLEAESE REPLY WITH HELP

first you need to identify the problem. the next time you system goes rrod don't turn it off right away. instead hold down the sync button ( the one you connect the controller with) and hit the eject button. the light pattern on the front should change. all four lights means 0 and the rest is 1 light for one,2 for 2,3 for three. hold the sync the entire time and keep hitting the eject to get 4 numbers ie...0020 or 4lights, 4 lights, two lights, four lights. once you have your 4 digit code look up on this page to find out the source of your problem ( http://xbox-experts.com/errorcodes.php ) it be under the secondary code.

this is just coincidence that its happening after its been flashed this is the rrod it starts like this freezing and crashing then eventually it will stop working
