Hey guys, I'm new and this is my first mod. I installed teh chip yesterday...no joy....when i started for the first time, the HD starts-stops, 3 times...stayed on for good the 3rd time.

After some more reading here I checked my solder points, went and got some new (recommended/better) soldering suplies. I resoldered and tried again booted (it still took 3 attempts)....but once it is on for good I get 2 blue lights on chip (good), Blue on front panel(good too), hard drive is light is blue...nothing on LAN, but I am thinking I need the cable there (so i think it is all ok).........but i still get the flashing red/green around the button, which is fragged if i am reading correctly, and I can't figure why it tried to boot twice, before starting. I can't eject, the DVD player either.

I have checked all the cables. ANy ideas would be awesome.

Thanks in advance

What version of Xbox do you have first off. because if its the 1.6 you need to remove the extra pins and solder the 5v wire along with the lpc rebuild. If its a 1.0-1.5 I know you said you checked all your soldering I would check it again. also the eject/power panel might be the culprit here also. Also how does it boot with teh chip disabled (pushing the power button longer than a second)?

it is V 1.0 - 1.5

I tried to boot disabled....as soon as the button is pressed it goes into the 3 tries then boots, and it is still enabled. I will check my soldering again, I am worried I may do some damage if I have to resolder again. Also I can't see any problem with the eject....i did read that in another thread so i have reseated all the connections.

ok so since its a 1.0-1.5 thats good no need to worry about the lpc or the 5v. I would make sure you don't have a short somewhere also (did you use electrical tape to cover your soldering jobs so it doesn't short on the case?) and make sure your soldering on the pin header is good and that there is plenty of solder to make a good connection.

:)

just some more ideas

You say you have 2 Blue lights ??? I assume the Blue X and the HD. Just to make sure .. is the HD on solid? If so it shouldnt be. It should only flash as the drive is being accessed.

Hey pvpmc

I have to thank you...we were on the right rack with the wiring, but check this out...i reseated wires agian, checked solder job...ugly but it looked ok...this time a put a new ribbon cable in I had laying around. Booted, but i dont' have the HD light anymore, but the bios showed up, i tried to boot disabling it too, and it worked. The CD player seems to make more noise than usual, but it is out so that may be the cause.....should my HD light on front panel be lit?

The HDD light will be lit when there is HDD activity. If there is activity and the drive is not lit you will have to make sure the wire didn't come loose. I know it sucks taking the whole damn thing apart again jsut to check one little detail. :(

I think teh HD light is ok...if I boot with it disabled, it flashes while it's workign...i guerss since it is sitting there with it enabled it obvioulsy won't be doing anything.

Cool. Good to know it works and you don't have to check that wire. That Sh!t sucks taking it apart and putting it back together for one little wire.

Good luck man

Re: is it necesary to instal PortIO32 in JungleFlasher v0.1.

If you read the latest tutorial you'd know the answer already!
Portio is now run on-the-fly when you run Jungleflasher!

the portio.sys files that come with jungleflasher must be left in the same directory as the jungleflasher.exe when you run JF
