bmmods LCD DIP204A

Purchased a bmmods DIP204 LCD and cannot get it to work on the X3.
Checked soldering and wiring and all is well.
This isnt an isolated problem, i bought two of these things, one for my mate and he has exactley the same problem, nothing appears on the LCD but it is initialising as the backlight comes on a few seconds after the xbox is turned on. I have mailed BMMods and am waiting an answer but if anyone else has any input it would be welcomed.
Also using the divineo converter board to convert the pins as the bmmods DIP204 has to vertical rows of pins.

So, in a nutshell they DONT work.

DUDE is not an XLCD come on dude my grandma could figure that one out. you got taken for a ride by your own ignorance . return it if you can , one more time you need anXLCD for the X3 . got it?

The LCD option is turned on, so it should be saying www.teamxecuter.com or something similar when it turns on. All i get is 4 horizontal flashing lines.
I've asked bmmods to actually rig one up and see what the problem is, hopefully it might fix it.
Everything ive read suggests that these particular lcd modules **should** work, however, this doesnt seem the case.

Ive spoken to bmmods and one of their engineers is going to install one of these lcd's on an X3 chip to try and sort the issue.
In the meantime, i re wired mine up using the suggested diagram from them.
It has yeilded a partial result. Basically, only 4 of the 8 data lines are connected and now i have 2 sets of 4 horizontal lines flashing on the display, however, contrast has no effect but i can control the brightness through my X3. Not that proves anything but at least it hasnt gone up in smoke. So, im gonna wait until the weekend and see what this chap at bmmods has to say.
The more reading i do on this, the more i suspect that the X3 is at fault.
Probs nothing more than an INIT issue but its annoying as i darent/cant rebuild all my xbox until this is resorted. Yeah, i could spend more money and buy the proper LCD from teamx but i bought these other 2 modules before teamX released theirs...

Yes, i have a solution.
Bmmods have agreed to refund me as they cannot get them to work properly either. So contact Bmmods and see what they say.

Lite-On with LT loading problem with games/disk unreadable

Hi guys

I have a xbox360 arcade with newest Lite-On in it, and last month it has been modded by someone.

After it got modded, i burned BF Bad Company 2 first.

When i spawn in that game sometimes, my xbox has trouble loading my weapons :S Sometimes after 10 to 20 my weapons load.

And sometimes not at all, then the xbox360 just stops making noise and its very quiet suddenly. So then i can reset my game.


And a few minutes ago i burned Dirt 2, and i get an Disk is unreadable error, when its loading the 1st race.

Anybody know what the problem could be?? Cause i can playing like nothing :?

You need to upgrade to LT v1.1 which has better media recognition - or you can buy better quality DVDs - or both.

EDIT: Are you patching your games with abgx360 before you burn them? And are you burning them at low speed (2.4x)?

Damn, already a LT update?? When did it come out? Cause i my xbox got modded 3 march or something

I burn with Verbatims, i patch my games correctly with agbx360 and i burn at 2,4x.

So i probably just have to update??

Because i have burned 3 games: Bad Company 2(weapons don't load sometimes, and if i leave the server the game freezes)

GTA Episodes of LC: No problems

Dirt 2: 1st race loading, when its loaded and it zooms into the picture of race, it says disk is unreadable.

But each time these problems occur, u can hear the xbox being very busy with loading, and then i just gives up.

IXtreme LT v1.1 came out March 20th - it seems you need this update.

Hmm i just called the guy who modded my lite on to iextreme LT 1.0, but he says the problem is something else, he says 1.1 will not solve the problem.

But i don't understand what the problem then could be, cause my burner is good, my disks are good(Verbatim, burn at 2,4 speed).

What do you guys think?

Could be that your drive is either on its way out i.e the lens. :)

The xbox360 is from Dec 2009, it can't be that quickly right??

I have no problems btw with original games.

I have 3 burned games:

Dirt 2: Disk unreadable when loading 1st race
BF Bad Company 2: Weapons hard to load many times, and sometimes you can hear the xbox360 being busy with loading, and then it gives up loading, and weapons just won't load anymore, all i can do is get in a vehicle and try to run people over.

GTA: Liberty City stories: No problems.
