the avalaunch dash has a quick start feature which allows you to launch an xbe while your box is booting up
you can edit the xml file to set a button to load your evox dash
when your box is loading simply hold down the button you chose and it will boot to evox dash

you could use x2configmaker and set the main dash to whatever you want in the bios. then flash the avalaunch one to banks 1-2 and evoX one to banks 3-4.

Nokiatone5: I dont think that would work...

Because you can't change the default settings for the x2.5032 bios directly. So they'd both be loading the first x2config.ini file they found. Which means that they would both be reading and using the first boot file path in the same x2config.ini... So you couldn't just have 2 config files with 2 bios's. Unless you used an older version, like the REALLY old ones like x2.4981, that would allow you to change the xbe file boot priorities for each individual bios with xbtool...
Or CAN you edit the x2.5032 bios in evtool or xbtool?

Just my thoughts, correct me if I'm wrong....

I have been doing this for a while now (though I boot to xbmc or evox). Here is a high level tutorial. I assume you know how to unpack/repack bioses, edit your .ini files, flash your modchip, use a hex editor, etc. If you dont, post here and I or someone else can fill in the blanks.

The trick is to simply have two 5032 bioss which boot different .ini files depending on which bank is active. You can then set different boot options in the two .ini files.

If you have not already done so, put 5032 on one bank and ftp your .ini file which uses one of your desired boot options. Boot and make sure it works.

Now unpack 5032 and edit it in a hex editor. Search for the string "x2config". You will get two hits where the text string reads "x2config.ini". Change both of those to x2altcfg.ini. Save the file and repack (when repacking save the bios as 5032_alt.bin). Copy your x2config.ini file to x2altcfg.ini and edit it to use your second boot option. FTP this file to your xbox and flash the second bank with 5032_alt.bin.

Just a note, yes you do have to unpack, editing the path w/o unpacking has not worked for me.

Boot off the second bank and make sure it works.

Ahh, yes. I should have mentioned that. You can unpack the 1.0-1.5 version but not the 1.6 version. For the time being, you are SOL.

Hopefully the next version will allow you to select .ini files at bootup.

Your only other option at the moment is use dashboard selector or a similar app.

You could always try an xbe file called xselect...u can set it to boot as default.
That way u can quick boot up to 8 dashboards or apps

spec below
"On bootup, the Selector app will look at the controller.
If nothing's pressed, it will continue on to boot the
'current dashboard'.

If the right trigger is pressed, a "Quick-Pick" Dash menu
will be presented, allowing you to select from up to 8 apps
as a dash. Each of these are also assigned to a button, and
you can temporarily launch that dash on startup by pressing
the assigned button. If the Right Trigger is also held during
the button select, that dash will become the 'current' default dash.

Left trigger will be for the apps... 8 apps, if the left trigger is
held, you'll get the quick-pick menu for those items, and if a
button is also held, you'll get that app.

LASTLY (phew...), holding both triggers will bring up the configuration menu. "

if you could tell the bios where to find x2config.ini you could have one on E and one on F then just switch banks for it. is that possible with any 5032 bios tool?!?!

Since you're running Avalaunch anyway, why not use their quick start feature? If you don't press anything on the controller at the Ava splash screen it will load the dash as normal, but if you program into the XML and hold down one of the buttons you can "redirect" to any XBE of your choice. It's covered in the Avalaunch manual (http://www.teamavalaunch.com/docs/manualv2.2.pdf) under the "Misc. settings explained" section. (3.3.9) Just search for "quick start"... at current version of the PDF it's on page 10. Or page 13, depending on where you start counting. I've been using this to jump to EvoX, XBMC or my favorite game as I need them. Works great.

I am interested in looking up the previously mentioned XSelect tho... although I don't think I'd need that many available options at boot! (hmm... can you nest them? have one XSelect point to another with a different config? an infinite number of "auto launch" options!)

I tried hex editing the .bin file for pre 1.6 bxboxes and modifying .ini path w/o unpacking. When doing so, it still looked at the original path. I needed to unpack it to get it to work. It may work w/o unpacking the 1.6 version but I doubt it. If you try it, post your results.
