Boot Disk problem

Alright well I've done alot of reading and thanks to prior help I have located the problem and its definitly that my dashboard has been renamed and I think Im running a box thats 1.0 because I bought it when it first came out I however dont know exactly which mod chip I have because it was installed for me I do know that its an xecutor 2 of some kind however cause it says so I tried making a boot disk with SlaYers_EvoX_Auto-Installer_v2.6 FINAL and ive tried 3 ways of burning it an to a cdrw memorex one through nero by itself one with nero with a 200 mb dummy file
which I dont know is necesary because the .iso is already 300mb and ive tried burning it with xp with a dummy file it has not worked I wonder if in fact there are specific boot disks anyways if you guys have any suggestions I would greatly apreciate it especialy concerning the identification of my chip and or the name of a specific boot disk

again im only realizing right now that slayers might not be a boot disk cause im dumb anyhow thanks

Try using a DVD as apposed to a CDRW.

The file is an ISO file so open up nero and select burn ISO, no need to add anything to it.

It is a boot disk also; just it has more options than a standard evox boot disk.

I have followed the nero turtorial to the T I have not tried a DVD though and well memorex CDRW do suck so as always reaper u r my king of kings I just hope that will
work now time to find someone with a DVD burner

Xbox DVD drives can be picky. Be sure to burn with a slow (the slower the better it seems) speed and be prepared to try different types of media. I have a Memorex DVD+RW that worked fine in two out of 3 boxes I've recently worked with, for the 3rd I had to burn my boot image to an old (4x tops) TDK CDRW for the box to read something. Haven't checked if the TDK disc works in any other boxes tho.

well i have tried memorex cdrw and now /today\ i tried the hp invent dvdr however it did only have slayers on it a 300 mb file on a 4.7 gb disk I wonder if that was the problem but I guess I just need to try other media I should probably try to get one of the same types that my backed up games are on they seem to all work fine

Without another modded Xbox, there is no other way to install a dashboard.

I wonder if the dvd rom in my box is the problem is that at all possible I only ask because I was checking some old ass forums and some dude had the same problem as me and thats how he fixed it and I do mean the exact same problem and with slayers none the less his box could read backed up games and he had an xecutor 2 so he changed his dvd rom to a samsung and it worked 1st try for him so i was just wondering if that would be a good idea guys and also does the x box use any speciality items for the dvd rom

With another modded Xbox you could put your unlocked hard drive in there, and install a dashboard. Or, you could move the DVD drive from the other Xbox to yours and see if that one will read your media, but it being modded would allow you to see if it can read the disc before you swap drives.
