1) At first, a quick tap of the power button gave me the BLUE Xecuter symbol and FlashBios 3.0.1. A longer hold of the power button, gave me a RED symbol and the standard MS BIOS/Dashboard. Finally, power and eject gave me a PURPLE symbol and FlashBIOS 3.0.1 (supposed to be from the backup 256k). I think this is all correct...
2) Now, I've flashed the first 1025k (bank 1234) of the memory with X3 BIOS release 2913 and I've managed to install a replacement dashboard (EvoX). As before, a quick tap boots to with mod (now X3 BIOS and EvoX) and long tap gives me the MS BIOS/Dash (mod disabled). Still all good...
3) My issue is with the backup... Pressing the eject and power together now does nothing... If I press the power button and the follow quickly by pressing the eject, the thing seems to boot from the backup (I get FlashBIOS
3.0.1) but the Xecuter symbol is only PURPLE for a moment and then reverts to the BLUE of a normal modded boot.
Is this normal? Is something funny with my install or is something malfunctioning? As I said, the first couple of times that I pushed the power and eject together it seemed to boot correctly to the backup and gave me the PURPLE indicator. Now, from point 3 above, the 2 keys together seem to do nothing... Overall, this is minor as, overall, the mod seems to be working but I'd like to make sure nothing else is messed up.
