Create an option on the X3 (switched on by default)

That gives you an option to boot different dashboard.xbe's.

Show the menu based on the configured priorities and availability of the files.

Time the menu out after 5 seconds with the top priority dashboard.

Make config live itself a possible startup from the same menu

Whenever you switch this off show a message for a fixed period of 5 seconds stating: "IF YOU EVER HAVE TO USE CONFIG LIVE AGAIN PRESS AND HOLD THE WHITE BUTTON WHILE STARTING YOUR BOX".

This sounds like easy to implement and would make the use of the X3 easier and avoids a -LOT- of noob questions...

The X3CL menu isn't rocket science!

We get n00b questions because people cannot be bothered to read the X3 FAQs - no other reason.

I don't see a sign on a car steering wheel that says "in order to slow the vehicle, release your foot from the accelerator and press the brake pedal".

If people just took the time to read the X3 FAQs and the X3 n00b guides then they wouldn't post at all.

A multi boot menu would be nice for those of us that do not use Ava as a dash (I use XBMC). Just options to program the different buttons to a path.

all those things you mentioned were awesome thoughts

which is exactly why they are ALL already implemented, it's called quick launch, and you have the choice of up to 5 different things to quicklaunch, 6 including the x3 config live

Psi - my 1959 bios only allows 1 Quicklaunch:

I'm saying it would be nice to have the option to add 5 on various buttons. And I know Ava can do it but I have already said that I do not use Ava.

yes, that is to quicklaunch anything, but if you look around again there is the option to boot with holding A,B,X,Y to boot other dashes
thus making 5 different quick launches
and if you disable auto boot to x3 config live then you can also "quicklaunch" into x3 config with white button, making 6 different things, all of which were asked for in the first post and have been included since the begining beta bios builds (1220+)

Any way you can give me some insight on how to do that. is in under quicklaunch or dash boot priority?

Under dash boot filenames you can add 5 dashes but it does not say anything about A, B, X, Y booting any of them.

Figured it out. If you set the different bot priority then the 2nd on the list will boot with A. and so on.

Would be nice if it said it anywhere...

Edit: For Future Reference
Edit:
1st priority is default boot (duh)
2nd will boot with 'A' button
3rd will boot with 'B' button
4th will boot with 'X' button
5th will boot with 'Y' button

:D

Hi guys...

You are basically all correct in your statements... Thing is however...

It's not in the technical functionality but its how it is presented to the user... I -know- this is all possible with the X3... All I am saying that the features might be implemented somewhat easier to find...

Actually good ideas imho... New technical functionality is hard to implement.. just working with the way the functionality is presented is easy...!

dunno, maybe it's just cause i beta tested all this, but here in .com country it makes perfect sense to me, i don't see any need for an xselect type menu to select the dash on boot, and if you do, just make something like that your default dash
maybe it's just different in .nl

Older Hitachi drive in mode b but not recognized by pc

i got my xbox back in 06 i believe. cases modded it to hell and theres no sticker on the drive anymore so idk what version i have. just that it is a hitachi. i want to flash the drives firmware but cannot get it recognized by win 7. when i start the pc n go into the setup for the bios i can go to my sata connections and find my dvd writer there as well as the xbox 360 dvd drive. but when the pc starts i am not able to see the drive.

i have tried the device manager and adding a device but it just sits at the scanning screen for infinite time. i have also opened and closed the drive as windows started up. this froze the logo for a few seconds and then did nothing different past that.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Older Hitachi drive in mode b but not recognized by pc

when i have jungle flasher open and i choose the first option at the top left for port properties it doesnt give me the option to put it into mode b. it has the buttons washed out.
however for the other properties and my other drives it gives the name and the option to put into mode b..
