boots but no video, ms works and backup works

i have a brand new xbox and ms dash works, and so does the backup, but when i try it with the x3 and a 2.6 neither one of them works enabled. I used the soderless adapter, and i tripple checked everything. I even used my friends x3 to see if it was the chip, but no luck

Huh? Backup?

What Xbox version do you have? Are you aware the solderless adapter doesn't work on a 1.6 Xbox?

Can you try and explain as much as possible?

it actually is a 1.0, i meant i got a used one but it has never been modded, and i meant the backup bios works, as well as the ms dash, both 3.3v and 5v lights are on, and on the switch the light is blue. but there is no video. its weird

I'm guessing that you're referring to the FlashBIOS screen as "backup BIOS".

Read the news archive regarding a possible short between 2 of the LPC pins which cause no video from an X3 BIOS.

Ok - the current Xapter won't work with the X3 (AFAIK).

The Xapt3r is out very soon and I think this is what you'll need.

When you swopped chips did you replace the LPC pin header i think they are different for the two versions, the x3 pin header uses the whole LPC port. the older version is shorter. If you are installing the x3 into a 1.6 did you do the board mod on bottom, what flashbios appears when you boot from backup is it 3.0.0 or 3.0.3?

Yes you can but you need a SATA Card for the laptop which you can get of the internet if you search for it. You also power the drive from the 360.

what about express card to pcmcia? express to sata doesnt appear to exist, all i couold find anywhere was express 2 eSata.
