So I know its a short, but I don't understand where. Its only after I put on the bottom half of my 360 enclosure that the 360 decides to actually boot, otherwise its just a black screen. The bottom half has no metal, just plastic, so I don't understand what could be the issue here.

Thanks.

Edit 1: looks like refitting the enclosure worked for now, but as I start to put more pieces back on, it stops working again! LOL!

not screwing down the board will cause board warping over time mate. isolating the bottom of the board would be better. cover any new wiring and if you done an xclamp replacement cover the black screws holes on the inside of the chasis as sometimes the screws ground out to the chasis, this indicates they are too big though and can also lead to board warp. just use electrical tape to isolate the points.

try not screwing in the chase as that happened to my jtag when i use the alt points on the bottom of the motherboard. after that it worked every time
I actually do have the chasis screws not in right now and it still gave issues.

There is no x-clamp fix done to this 360 actually, but what seem to be working now is if have the 360 standing vertically as opposed to horizontally and not having the faceplate on, seems to be booting every time now.
