I just bought a 512 GB Sandisk Ultra Plus sd card at Bestbuy on Black Friday. My existing 256GB card has all the game files, including sx os and license. Do I just simply copy the files from my 256 GB card to the new 512 and I should be all set? Do I need to reinstall all the games? I mostly use XCI but nsp updates are applied on those XCI games.

To backup and restore all the installed software you have to copy sxos/Emunand folder and also the Emutendo folder in SD root.
If you have an hidden partition Emunand you can use EmuTool (check here) to backup and restore or if you prefer command line you can use dd to dump the sectors.

If you are using a hidden partition based emuNAND, simple copy/paste won’t work. If you have a file based or no emuNAND at all, copy/paste is perfectly sufficient.
